A port is either physical or logical in this section we are going to talk about the logical ports.

The purpose of a computer logical port is it acts as an end point to a logical connection in which a client application specifies a specific program on a computer network.

The IANA Internet Assigned Numbers Authority provides well known ports that are preassigned specified in RFC 1700.

There are 0-1024 privileged ports and the are 0 up to 65,536 ports
